ICCBBA is excited to announce Enterprise Grant 2025, offering funding to support initiatives that enhance the safety and efficiency of transfusion and transplantation systems for Medical Products of Human Origin (MPHO).

Funding Opportunity Title: ICCBBA Enterprise Grant

Grant Number: ICCBBAEG2025

Application Deadline: April 30, 2025 (5:00 PM local time of the applicant organization)

Total Funding Available: This year, ICCBBA has increased the total fund to $100,000 USD. Each applicant can now request up to a maximum award of $50,000 USD, providing even greater support for impactful projects.

Number of Awards: TBD


Who Can Apply?


Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, public institutions, and government agencies that provide transfusion or transplantation services. For-profit organizations may participate as project partners but cannot be the principal applicant.


What We Fund


Projects should aim to:

Improve traceability and electronic information management in

transfusion/transplantation systems.

Enhance patient safety and efficiency in MPHO management.

Support initiatives in resource-limited settings.


How to Apply


  1. Check Your Eligibility – Applicants must confirm that they are a non-profit/public institution and that their project aligns with improving MPHO safety, efficiency, or traceability.

Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM PDT (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM WAT, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM UTC)

Event Duration: 60 minutes


ICCBBA’s Enterprise Grant Application Workshop is designed to guide attendees through the new online application process. This session will cover specific application requirements, eligibility criteria, and the award cycle. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from ICCBBA’s Executive Director, Eoin McGrath, and Global Development Manager, Chris Salinas. Additionally, 2023 Enterprise Grant Recipient, Pr. Claude Tayou Tagny from the Safe Blood for Africa Foundation, will share insights into the progress and impact of their funded project. A live Q&A session will provide an in-depth understanding of the grant's objectives and application details.

About ICCBBA:  

ICCBBA is the nonprofit international standards organization responsible for the development and management of the ISBT 128 Standard.  


The acronym ISBT was originally derived from the important role played by the International Society of Blood Transfusion in the development of the Standard. Today it expands as Information Standard for Blood and Transplantation. The number 128 reflects the 128 characters of the ISO/IEC 646 7-bit character set.  


The acronym ICCBBA is derived from the International Council for Commonality in Blood Banking Automation.
